The majority of our referrals come directly from criminal defense attorneys and their legal teams, and we understand the time, preparation, and advocacy required to effectively represent individuals facing criminal charges.

 

Fidelis Mitigation Consultants works collaboratively with defense counsel to provide comprehensive forensic social work, mitigation investigation, clinical assessment, treatment coordination, and defense advocacy. Our role is to identify and document the psychosocial, developmental, clinical, and environmental factors relevant to your client’s case and translate those findings into meaningful mitigation that can support your legal advocacy.

 

We value the attorney-client relationship and approach every case as an extension of the defense team. Our goal is to provide counsel with thorough, clinically informed, and well-documented mitigation while remaining responsive to court deadlines and the unique demands of each case.

 

Serving Long Island, New York City & New York State

 

Our main office is located in Suffolk County, and we regularly accept cases throughout Long Island, New York City, and New York State. With mitigation specialists located in multiple regions, we are able to provide flexible and timely services based on the needs of the case.

We work with privately retained counsel as well as attorneys handling 18-B Assigned Counsel matters in New York City and Suffolk County.

 

Responsive & Accessible

 

We recognize the demands placed on defense attorneys and strive to make the referral and consultation process as efficient as possible. Initial attorney consultations can generally be conducted by secure video conference or telephone, and in-person meetings can be arranged when appropriate.

 

We also work to accommodate clients who are incarcerated, have transportation limitations, or face other barriers to participating in an assessment. Whenever feasible and clinically appropriate, alternative arrangements can be made to facilitate timely client contact.
